Five Minute Friday - BELONG

It’s Five Minute Friday where a community of women gather to write for 5 minutes on 1 word. No editing, rethinking, backtracking – just get it out and on the page. Today’s word is BELONG. It isn't easy but it’s so much fun. Join us at http://lisajobaker.com/

How do I even begin? Where exactly do I truly belong? I'm Trinidadian born, schooled in St. Vincent, and now married in St. Vincent while all my maternal and paternal family is in Trinidad or Canada.

My husband has the answer.
He says where he and our children are that is right where I belong. Its home.  No matter where we may find ourselves on a map.  I belong with them.

I go further, and he also agrees, to say that I belong to my heavenly Father who saw it fit to place Man and Children in my life and have them suit me just right.

I am safe. I am well. I am loved.

I belong.

  3. You do belong to your family who loves you, just as you belong in His world and have His love.
#fmf provides the opportunity of belonging to another community.

  4. Learning to just belong where you are is both comfortable and hard. Hard when small pieces of our hearts are not right there with us. I love that you found your belonging place

  5. Beautifully written. It hurts when we struggle to belong. I know what its like to need to belong outside the circles of those that love you.

  6. I just came over from Mary's blog after reading your comment there. I have tears in my eyes from this short, yet powerful post. Even as you struggle being where you are, you will be okay because you have great faith. Your husband sounds like a good man, too.
